Finding a Japanese House | Part Two
Part two of our experiences in finding a house. This is mostly going to be a photo blog post as I show you around our new home the day we moved in. I do have a furnished house tour in the works but for now hopefully this will satisfy your curiosity. (Read "Part One" here) First, the floor plan of our home. The area marked with an "L" is our office area upstairs. Also the "D" living area looks huge on this paper.
Standing at the back of the hallway looking at the entry. To the right the bathroom & stairs, to the left our bedroom. Photo below, where I was standing looking into the tatami room.
Our huge bedroom with closets and three windows. The larger space makes up for the lack in other areas of the house.
Inherited plants looking a little sad. Anyone know what kind of fruit tree this is?
Where we put our trash for collection during the week is in the green bins. Everything is recycled and sorted so there is trash pick up every week day, each day a different type of trash.
The first floor bathroom complete with heated seat, sink and "washlet" (bidet).
The tatami room and deck view from the sliding doors. The deck here you can also get to through our bedroom on the right.
Anson demonstrating for you how sturdy the closet is.
Lets head upstairs. The cats love running up these at insane speeds.
Turning to the left at the top of the stairs this is the doorway to the living/dinning/kitchen.
Our living/dinning/kitchen area. To the far left is the small upper balcony where I can hang laundry or enjoy the view while eating breakfast.
Through the sliding doors on the left is the office. Down the hall we came through is the second toilet and my little sewing corner past that.
My sewing corner. It's like they had extra space and didn't know what to do with it so they put in a desk.
And that's all. Moving is tiring!
