I am just back from the South Carolina State Fair and thought I would share some photos with you. As some may know I entered a few pieces of art into the fair this year, two quilts and two photography prints. It was quite fun, and admittedly intimidating, to find my own work amongst the hundreds of other work submitted to the fair. The photography section was announced early on online so I knew before I went that I hadn't won anything. The quilts on the other hand were not announced and so it wasn't until arriving and seeing the little stamped ribbons pinned to both of my quilts that I knew I had won anything. Quite exciting! A first place for my tiny paper pieced "Mini Wedding Ring" quilt, and a second place for my "Kimono" quilt. I have plans to take some lovely shots of both of these once they are home again.
