Our San Diego Home
I've been wanting to share with you where we've been living for the past two months here in San Diego while Anson has been in training. As some might know we're staying in the Navy Lodge which is on base. The Navy base here is quite different from the one in Charleston. Some might say this is a "real" Navy base because of its size in comparison. It is right outside of downtown San Diego and right next to a very busy port. I don't think I will ever cease to be amazed at how much those dock crane can lift. A small train runs right by with a stop just across the street that will take you into downtown. On to our housing situation. As I said we are living here in the Navy Lodge. The room we have is about 200 square foot, including a mini kitchenette and bathroom. You would be surprised what you can whip up with only a two burner stove top and a microwave. The mini fridge is certainly lacking however.
Our bedroom/entertainment/office/living/dinning/crafting room. You might have noticed the cute vintage sewing machine my mom left for me to use. The perfect size for a small space. I stitched up a pillowcase for Anson to take on deployment and created a couple of my camera bean bags with it as well. Past the TV is our door and before that is the bathroom. Behind me is our window and behind me to the right is the kitchen opening.
The only table that become my desk. A little messy I might add.
The cats love the window as there is a nice ledge to sit on or the AC unit and watch people and birds.
Just this past Thursday we were given the option to move across the hotel to one of the newly renovated rooms. We jumped on it. Might have sounded strange to move rooms so close to our leave date but it gave me a better idea of what would fit in the suitcase. So I moved things while Anson was at his final class. Still slightly disoriented as it is a mirror image of the last room. But I must say the full fridge is wonderful and it doesn't smell funky now that all the carpet is gone!
