Joshua Tree
A long overdue post (I seem to have a lot of these) from our trip to Joshua Tree National Park in California. Anson's brother, Tim, flew into town that weekend and we also brought along a friend, Melissa. We had a blast here, climbing around on rocks.
Melissa found a tiny spot to hide in under a massive boulder and (right and below) some of the rocks nearby.
Several of the cactuses were in bloom or about to bloom. Such pretty reds and pinks.
So many textures to photograph!
The place reminds me of all the old movie sets that take place on "other" planets, movies such as Lost in Space. I had an excellent Sci-fi childhood education.
These were cave paintings that had been drawn over at some point in the 70's.
And a dam that didn't hold any water. It was created over 100 years ago for watering cattle.
And our last stop for the day was this skull rock. Can you see it? This was the best angle.
