Even since before we knew the exact date, we have been preparing for this day: the day we knew we would be leaving Charleston.
It is a little sad but something prepares you when you know you can only enjoy a place for so long. I will miss where we lived, our apartment, the times we could walk to our church or the grocery store. Sitting at the Starbucks in the same shopping center sipping sweet hot drinks for hours at a time with a pen in my hand and a sketchbook in my lap. The barista there that befriended Anson (the hubby) and upgrade our drink sizes out of kindness and in his own way of saying “thank you” to the uniform Anson wears. The many many places we explored and beauty of the architecture and landscapes. If you live in Charleston (or anywhere really) get out and explore! There are so many colorful things to see.
Gil relaxing in one of my mom’s folding camp chairs. So glad she brought these up! We wouldn’t have had anything to sit on for two days since the movers packed up all of our stuff.
Goodbye apartment!
The bags are packed and the cats are ready to go! Our final destination is technically Japan with a two month stop in San Diego. We are driving across the US and visiting our family along the way. And yes, the hubby is already growing a beard!

oh Japan!!! You’ll only be an hour flight from us! Maybe just maybe we could have a chance to visit each other
I will say prayers for your safe travels and for our Father to give you an amazing adventure!
I didn’t realize we would be that close! We will definitely have to look into seeing you sometime then!
I really like the part about “visiting our family along the way”…how super-great to have you both here!
We look forward to your visit
And we look forward to visiting!
Love!!
That’s really lovely that the Starbucks guy upsized your drinks
I really want to visit Charleston!!!
He was pretty cool! I like being a regular to a place like that.
